A cozy tavern evening as part of our ongoing LARP campaign "Realms of Lorell": Baron Ahren of Whitestone invited guests into the tavern "The Black Lantern," within the walls of his barony, to celebrate his birthday among friends, citizens, and envoys.
What it was about
In the High Kingdom of Lorell, 126 years after the end of the great war, the Barony of Whitestone opened its gates for an evening of conversation, stories, and song. Beneath the celebration lay political tension too: Whitestone's strained relationship with the neighboring Barony of Silberquell — whose access bridge has been held by Whitestone troops for months — gave guests plenty to talk about, and plenty of room for intrigue.
The setup
The evening was deliberately small and personal: a 5 € entry fee covered the room rental and incidental costs, and drinks were available from the innkeeper via tavern cards.
How It Went
A baron who wasn't allowed to spend his birthday as quietly as he'd hoped, and a tavern that got fuller as the evening went on — 20 guests came in total. For many of our guests it was their very first LARP evening ever — and that's exactly what we built this format for: five euros, no preparation, just sit down and play along. Thanks to everyone who was there, and to Rittergut Leppersdorf for the space.
